In some organizations or companies, it is quite often that we find there is a difference between the location of one department with another department in its organizational structure. This difference in location, often cause various problems especialy pro related to the flow of information. PT. X is a company that has a different location (city) between it’s marketing department and it’s factory where the production activities take place. This research was conducted at PT. X to see what are the effects of the differences in location in a organization. The effect that is observed in this study only focuses on information flow problems that arise due to differences in location. This research was conducted by distributing a questionnaire which aims to determine the relationship between the flow of information, communication satisfaction, and organizational structure in PT. X. The respondents of the questionnaire is a position whose duties related to the problem of information flow. The search of relationship between the flow of information, communication satisfaction, and organizational structure was conducted by Partial Least Square (PLS) results from the questionnaire. From the PLS results, it is known that the factors that have the greatest correlation with the flow of information, communication satisfaction, and organizational structure are information related to job, process of delivery information, and the chain of command. By considering this three factors, this research do a restructuring process at PT. X. This restructuring process resulted in the development of job description for some position which the work related to the flow of information. In addition, from the results of PLS, is also known that there is no influence between the flow of information with communication satisfaction and between communication satisfaction with the organizational structure in PT. X. |
