Assessment is a process for obtaining information and making a particular educational decision. The aim of English test is to gather reliable information of what learners can do in English and what they know about English. In order to change and revise the teaching plans, approaches, materials as well as teaching strategies, teaching and learning requires learners to constantly gather information and make decisions. Sound assessment procedures gather sound information which helps learners decide to what degree a student has achieved in the learning targets.
