Educational circumstances commonly involve several matters which are connected with each other, such as the objective of teaching, teaching materials, the role of teacher and learner, teaching and learning process, and assessment. Teaching and learning are two events that occur in the classroom and almost impossible to be separated from one another. Prahbu (1990) says, “… teaching that is divorced from learning is of little educational value, being at best a form routine or ritual and it, therefore, seems necessary to resist any discussion of teaching as a separate event from learning” (p. 48). Prahbu (1990) adds that, “Teaching takes place after careful planning on the part of the teachers; learning, on the other hand, occurs without conscious effort on the part of the learner” (p. 48). |
