In the past few decades, there has been increasing demand for translation due to the development of international trades and the expansion of mass media and technology. According to Gerding (2000), almost all activities require translation. Consequently, translation plays a very significant role as bilingual or cross-cultural transmitter of culture by attempting to interpret speech in a variety of texts as accurately as possible. It is the function of a translator to transmit the written message into the source languange. Typically, translation has been used to transfer the texts in written or spoken source language to the equivalent ones in the target language. However, translation is not an easy job. The concept of one language may differ radically from that of the others because each language articulates or organizes the word differently (Ordudary, 2007). The bigger the gap between the source language and the target language is, the more difficult the process of transfer will be. |
