The research about usability aspect, currently had enough been done both in Indonesia and other countries. The research about this usability of cellular phone had been done to compare two different kind of CDMA cellular phone, which are Samsung F309 and Huawei C5100 based on valuation of the usability dimension. Usability
dimension that has been studied in this research are efficiency, effectiveness, learnability, error and satisfaction. The usability dimensions will valuated from user side when they use the exact cellular phone. Then they will find out which cellular phone is more usable. The research had been done to 10 boy respondents (primary school) aged between 6 to 11 years old. Criteria from respondents needed is from they are who never at all use the cellular phone (first user). Experiment (usability testing) had been done with to give four task that consist of 25 subtask to respondents for to be executed. The
tasks to be related with usage cellular phone.
Valuation to this experiment will be recorded in the appraisal form. Data obtained will be objective data (from the appraisal form) and subjective data concerning respondent preference at the time they are using this cellular phone (from preference
qustionary). Objective data will be used to value on efficiency, effectiveness, learnability and error dimension. Subjective data will be used to value on satisfaction dimension. Data processing had been done with normality test data, test involved averaging and proportional test. This data processing wll be done using SPSS 14 software and
Minitab 13. Based on this the result, will be obtained valuation on efficiency, effectiveness, learnability, error and satisfaction of each cellular phone user. After that, the comparison based on usability could be done between both cellular phone that has been used in this research. |
