Abstract
The objective of this research is to analyze the satisfaction level of the students from the Magister Management Program of Atma Jaya Catholic University and to know if the students are willing to make word of mouth promotion for the Magister Management Program of Atma Jaya Catholic University. By doing this research, the Magister Management Program of Atma Jaya Catholic University will know their advantages and as well as their shortcomings and will be able to better satisfy their students. This research is also meant to proof that its result is in line with the result of a survey conducted by the Swasembada magazine’s 25th-edition in 2009. This research was conducted by spreading the questioners to the students of the Magister Management Program of Atma Jaya Catholic University through the convenience sampling method. Questioners that have been collected are 100. This questioner examines the satisfaction level of the students regarding the equipment and the infrastructure, teaching methods, as well as the standard and the quality as perceived by the students that are still active at the Magister Management Program at Atma Jaya Catholic University. The result of this research shows that the level of the student’s satisfaction towards the equipment and the infrastructure, teaching methods, and as well as the standard and the quality, based on the satisfaction scale is: “satisfied”, but if we look for more detail, there are many respondents that choose the “average”, and hence the conclusion is that the student’s satisfaction has not reach the maximum and therefore Atma Jaya needs to take actions to increase the student’s satisfaction. Meanwhile the result of the word of mouth is that 41% respondents get their recommendation for choosing the Magister Management of Atma Jaya from other people, 84% have recommended the Magister Management of Atma Jaya to other people and 98% respondents are willing to recommend Magister Management of Atma Jaya to their friends. According to the result of the research that have been conducted and based on the theory as mentioned by Kotler, and also by looking at the total number of students that tend to increase in the last five years, it is therefore proven that the word of mouth can help increase the total students of the Magister Management of Atma Jaya University.
