There are many ways to make water into an ice-cube. One common example is by using a refrigerator. But, the heat transfer inside the refrigerator is slow. Because of that, the writer constructed a machine with a better heat transfer than the refrigerator. This can be achieved by sticking some ice-cube molds into evaporator’s pipe directly, and then the water is sprayed by a nozzle into the ice-cube mold. After some time, the water will freeze inside the ice-cube mold and then it turns into ice-cube. After the water became ice-cube, the heater will activate and the icecube will fall. The experiment shows that frost start to thicken from 20th minutes, whereas the conventional refrigerator didn’t able to create the frost faster than that. The final result shows that this machine can produce more ice-cube than the conventional refrigerator in a shorter time. This indicated that this machine is more energy-efficient in making an ice-cube than the refrigerator. |
