Isi artikel
In May 2004, The Times reported an N interview with Rowan Williams, M Archbishop of Canterbury, under the headline ’Portfolio People’ (Williams 2004). In it, the archbishop drew attention to a social trend which has seen the breakdown of classical patterns of employment and the concept of ’a job for life’ and its replacement by a growth in short-term jobs and achievements in what he called &dquo;a portfolio approach to identity&dquo;. He argued that, to cope with the potential fuzziness about personal identity and personal integrity that could arise from this post-modernist development, required not &dquo;the bolting on of little bits of spirituality to the edges&dquo; but needed a life-long education system that encouraged reflection and that worked with what he termed &dquo;interiority: the inner chamber where things have time to echo&dquo;.
