Isi artikelAlthough studies of educational leadership have proliferated over the last decade, they have mostly focused on English-speaking Western school settings. Leadership in non-Englishspeaking Western and non-Western school settings has largely been ignored, with the result that little is known about the influence of culture on the beliefs and actions of school leaders across national boundaries. As a consequence, comparative educational leadership as a sub-set of comparative educational administration has, on the whole, failed to materialise (Dimmock & Walker, 1998a, 1998b). In short, few studies have been undertaken of comparative leadership from a cross-cultural perspective.
