This study aims to compare the aspect of usability Minitab 15 and SPSS 17 to solving some tasks that related to statistical inference subject. Usability of these software had been compared based on usability dimension by ISO 9241 Part 11: effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. Effectiveness compared with an objective assessment of the accuracy of hypothesis testing steps using both software. Efficiency compared with the velocity measurement completion time. Satisfaction found using the preference questionnaire. From the research that required 20 respondents, it is known that the dialogue between the user and both of the software have the same level of effectiveness. In terms of efficiency, known that respondents can complete the job more efficiently by using Minitab 15 for all tasks concerning hypothesis testing. When viewed from the user’s preferences, known that more respondents thought the Minitab 15 was easier to use than SPSS 17 for tasks concerning two sampel-t test (equal variances assumed), paired-t test, hypothesis test about two variance and also one way ANOVA. |
