This analysis of an ethnomedical classification of disease among the Banggi islanders of Sabah, Malaysia, looks at cause, diagnosis as it relates to cause, and therapy. The taxonomy of disease is categorized as to whether or not it is a sickness, then whether or not it can be cured and by whom, and finally whether or not payment can be requested locally.
