There was a strong protest movement, from the society of France and from many part of the world when on December 17, 2003, President of France, Jacques Chirac, issued an announcement that in France, the Laicite Bill, a law on the ban of religious symbols' use in the state schools' environment in France. However, the government of France still passed the law on March 15, 2004. The objective of the French government in Passing the Laicite Bill is to enforce the secular ideology and culture adapted by France.
