To put this phenomenon into the broader context of global physician migration, data is also presented on the distribution of medical schools, physician density, the flow of international medical graduated to the US, and the present composition of the US physician workforce. Results: Results of the study indicate that many individuals leave their home country for undergraduate medical education. Conclusions: Given the movement of students and physician, both for medical school ad for advanced training opportunities, it is evident that some medical schools in the world are training doctors for their home country as well as for the international labor market.
