| People all over the world use language as a means of communication. Through language, people can express their feeling, obtain information and share information with each other. Fromkin and Rodman (1998) stated that “language is a system of communication of meaning through sounds, letters, and signs" and Hove (1982) said that “in society, a language serves its major function as a communication.” It means that in daily life, people use language when they communicate with others and they express themselves in 2 (two) ways: oral and written. English language is one form of communication that plays an important role among people throughout the world. A person’s ability to speak and communicate will determine the listener’s response, however sometimes it is hard to understand what the speaker has to say. |
