OnMay1, 2003, at St. Peter’s Church inNewYork City, Kathy Goldman was paid tribute for her more than 20 years of service as the founder and executive director of the Community Food Resource Center (CFRC). Goldman started the CFRC in 1980 with a $6,000 grant for a school breakfast campaign.“ Mydream,” she said, “was thatwecould change the world,” but her “more realistic hope was that we could make life a little better for lowincome families and individuals in New York City.”
