Isi artikel
In the early 1960s, the Supreme Court established the principle of one man [sic] one vote in the case of Reynolds v. Sims. Chief Justice EarlWarren, writing the Opinion for the Court, said, “The fundamental principle of representative government in this country is one of equal numbers of people without regard to race, sex, economic status, or place of residence within a state [to elect representatives] . . . To theextent that a citizen’s right to vote is debased, he is that much less a citizen” (Reynolds v. Sims, 1964).
