The little train simply could not go another inch. They asked the Shiny New engine to help. He said, ”I pull the likes of you? Indeed not!” They asked the Big Strong Engine to help. He said, “I am a very important engine indeed. I won’t pull the likes of you!” They asked the Rusty Old Engine to help. He said, “I cannot, I cannot.” Finally, they asked the Little Blue Engine to help. She looked up and saw the tears in the dolls’ eyes. And she thought of the good little boys and girls one the other side of the mountain who would not have any toys or good food unless she helped. Then she said, “I think I can.
