Isi artikel
The number of women inmates in state and federal prisons has increased rapidly in recent decades. Relatively little is known about this population, and virtually nothing is known about the distinct experiences of African American, Hispanic, and White women in prison. This article reviews the literature on this population and presents research directions and strategies that can capture both the commonalities and differences in the women’s experiences.
