Isi artikelAronowitz (2008) has put forth a provocative argument in his article "Framing disease: an underappreciated mechanism for the socail patterning of health", making the case for a change of vision within population health. his message is almost a subtle one: an epistle call to look at the social and cultural influences on health that reside squarely within our view, but that too often get bracketed by health researchers in favor of more seemingly straightforward measurable data. Social and cultural forces matter not only for understanding the societal valences of causal factors of disease, but also for comprehending disease etiology itself.
