Layout is a way to arrange space (room) which is used by man, material, machine, and any kind of production device. Principally, spaces arrangement will consider 3 dimensional (cubic space) views, not just floor space view. Then, facilities planning layout has a lot of focus in this space requirement. Besides, the movement of the material, machine, and man will be happen in 1 of 3 directions, x, y, and z direction. An optimum layout facility planning will have a great effort to solve this kind of space requirement problem and try to figure it out. That is why, we think about rearrangement of space required needed in Finished Goods Storage at Cornindo Boga Jaya, Co., to achieve the best product movement. We use 3 methods in this research, namely Dedicated Storage Method, Randomized Storage Method, and Class-based Dedicated Storage Method. The result shown that the real condition, which is used by the company to arrange its Finished Goods layout, does not give attention on flow rate product yet, including the amount of transaction and stocking time. It’s also shown that dedicated storage and class-based dedicated storage method have the same value on material handling movement by 3392.600 meters. On the other hand, randomized storage method has 3426.600 meters. |
