Abstract
There are several products which their netto are not the same as what’s written on the packagings. These are called defects. The term refers to a situation which the products’ specification is not qualified for the company’s standard specification. These things make extra costs for the company for rework processes and weakened their brand image in front of the customers. PD. Palem Sari Jaya has not yet applied the quality control for their sauce bottle’s netto because the filling processs are still done manually with individual estimations, the effects are many of the products’ netto are not in the same amount of the standard specification.Therefore, a suggestion is needed to design a filling tools to solve the problems.
The concept is selected by using concept selection method which alternate a filling tools with some container and laser as an alternative concept.The concept are selected because of the better value among the others which means the criterias are also better than the others. The selected concept is then designed and runs trial and error test of one by one and combinated fillings to know the problems which are occured such as blocked sensor rays, bottle bias and in-accurate sensor reception.
After the design is done, then cost analyzis is also done to know the design effectiveness than the earlier tools. The gross profit is Rp.7.000.000,00 by the earlier tools and Rp.8.000.000,00 for the new tools by assuming the profits are Rp.1000 each bottle and each bottle is sold out. The conclusión is the new tools are better than the earlier tools, so that the use of the new tools are recommended.
