Isi artikel
Old age security is an issue of universal concern. Evidence on Indonesia's pension system is assessed as the Indonesian Government has recently passed legislation to bring about a uniform national security system (Jamsosnas) in order to change the existing system that is fragmented, overlapping, inconsistent and not strictly enforced. The existing pension programs in Indonesia are known as Jamsostek, the Private Pension Plans DPPK and DPLK, and Taspen. This paper examine Jamsosnas plans and compare to an alternative system as used in Singapore. There is also exploration of lessons that can be learnt for Indonesia in setting up its universal pension system for the social benefit of retirements. As we know that Jamsosnas is a public service program then there are such important requirement for the program to be well-implemented as transparency, accountabillity and highly responsiveness of management in the public service.
