Abstract
PT. X is a flexible packaging company who produces one of them is polycellonium, This company had a problem with those productivity performance in producing polycellonium where they had analyze this with total productivity to current value, in 2008 total productivity index had been decline for 2.84 % loss than in 2007. In this globalization, there are many quiet compete among these same manufacture, so that this manufacture have to survive and must improve they competing spirit through product’s development quality, according to this, manufactures need to increase they total productivity index on this product because this product is the most valuable than the others. From this solution of increasing total productivity index can increase the profit and decrease the product reject.
Before the effort of increasing total productivity index at polycellonium product we have to analyze total productivity index and partial productivity index based on constant price every month in 2008 using David J. Sumanth method, where can be found the bad effect of partial productivity index, from this analyze we found seven (7) productivity index criteria that had average bad effect lower than beginning period or January 2008. Which the seven bad effect were alumunium foil 95.992 %, film 90.925 %, ink 94.755 %, resin 79.710 %, factory labour 98.318 %, gasoline 92.341%, and water & electricity 94.876%.
They caused the decreased of total productivity and increased partial cost where happenened in April, May, June, July, August, and September. The result of this becaused of the decreased output total and increased many product reject. We had to know main problem of the procduct reject ,so I discussed with company to make fishbone diagram,and CFME (Cause Failure Mode Effect).
Based on FMEA ,there are 12 suggest that improve the Total Productivity in it his company so they can compete with others. This suggest is rate from big RPN (Risk Priority Number) to small. Two from the biggest are 1. Change with another supplier with the good quality on with RPN 576. 2. Corrective and preventive maintenance in Optic parts with RPN 512.
