Isi artikelThe present investigation sought to assess the factor structure, reliability, and validity of the Solution Focused Recovery Scale (SFRS). A principal component factor analysis with varimax rotation was performed on the 36 item SFRS. Three factors were identified as best depicting the factor structure of the instrument and were labeled Social Engagement, Self Care, and Interpersonal Assertion. Reliability analysis on the items and three factors suggested good internal consistency. Discriminant validity of the SFRS was supported by both the lack of positive correlations with CBCL scales and negative correlations between two conceptually opposite scales on the two instruments. The present analyses suggest the SFRS could serve as a valid and reliable instrument when assessing adaptive coping in adolescent survivors of sexual abuse, especially in the context of inpatient treatment.
