Isi artikel
This paper discusses some aspects of language use in Ghana along with people's attitudes towards language, the discussion centering mainly around the use of Akan and English, drawing partially on the experiential or emic domain of language study. I will try to make some generalizations which can be said to be a reflection of the language situation in Ghana. Though my own views and reactions towards language use in Ghana may be said to be rather subjective, they may not be radically different from other people's views, as I have gathered from discussions with several friends and colleagues as well as from interviews and newspaper articles on the subject.
