Isi artikel
This paper examines the phenomenon of variable name usage in Borno State, Nigeria, comparing this usage with more standard European usages, such as is found in Bendel State. The more westernized the participants. in the study, the more consistently they represented their names in the order personal (or Christian) name, middle name, surname (or family name). The less westernised the participants the less consistently they represented their names in a particular order.
