In Ashéninca verb morphologyl there are three suffixes which function as directionals indicating motion toward or away from a certain point, but which also have certain productive aspectual functions. These same suffixes carry an additional load in narrative discourse by identifying foregrounded action. This paper describes and illustrates their multiple functions.
