Isi artikel
This report on the use of English and native language vitality among two sample groups of adult American Indians (one urban and diffuse, the other rural and culturally homogenous), discusses empirical findings resulting from test administrations in English language proficiency, and selfreports, from a sociolinguistic perspective. Statistical findings on a number of variables for each group are compared against several popular hypotheses about language use among contemporary Native Americans.
