The Mother Mortality Rate (MMR) in Indonesia is quite high and it stands the highest among ASEAN countries. The high MMR is due to low education of mothers, social and cultural impediment and closely related to husband attitude. To overcome the problem, the Indonesian Government in 1996 launched Love Mother Movement (Gerakan Sayang Ibu: GSI) that basically aimed to eradicate all impeding factors.
