Isi artikel
This paper is mainly concerned to investigate the characteristic of Indian Ocean Dipole Model (IOD), especially on Sea Surface Temperature (SST) to the rainfalll anomaly over West Sumatera. The monthly of IOD and rainfall data that we used in this study is started from 1960 to 1999 for 39 year observations. By using the minitab software based on the Principal Component Analysis (PCA), those rainfall data are grouped into group-1 to group-3. They show that those group rainfall has a similar dominant pattern oscillation with the SST IOD is about 3 years. It indicates that rainfall over West Sumatera which always wet every year suspecting correlated well to the SST anomaly over Indian Ocean.
