Isi artikelMonsoon causes seasonal climate variation, while others natural phenomena such as El Nino, La Nina, Southern Oscillation and Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) give occation to non-seasonal climate variation. Indonesian region is under influence of both the equatorial and monsoonal circulation regimes of quite different character. Ratio between the amount of rainfall in Asian monsoon (DJF) and in Australian monsoon (JJA) is greater for monsoonal rain type than that for equatorial rain type. The influence of El Nino and IOD (+) phenomena is the diminution of rainfall amount, so that the growing season is sharter. On the contrary La Nina and IOD (-) cause the increase of rainfall amount, thus growing season is longer. Occurance frequencies of El Nino, La Nina in the Equatorial Pacific Ocean and IOD in the Equatorial Indian Ocean is less than that in normal conditions.
