There are many problems that a teacher may face in his/her teaching activities. Those problems should of course be soved in order to achieve the outlined teaching objectives. Classroom action research is a technique that a teacher can take to solve those problems. This paper discusses basic principles of classroom action research (CAR and its application). The discussion will cover: (1) concepts of CAR, (2) the objectives of classroom research, (3) characteristics of classroom research, (4) principles of classroom research, (5) procedures in implementing classroom research, (6) the instruments used to collect the data, and (7) data analysis technique.
