Human being is a part of environment, in this situation the environment damages will cause quality degradation of human life. Human security is connecting with the human protection whether in conflict as well as in peace situation including protection to the environment. UNDP also stated that human security means freedom of Fear and Freedom of Want, which are included seven main categories: Economic including poverty and homelessness, Food (hunger), Health, Environment (Degradation, pollution and nature disaster), personal and Community (political). Connecting to this issues, poverty reduction strategy in Indonesia, defines in terms of some basic rights such as food security, health, clean water, sanitation, and clean environment. However, poverty is one of many problems in Indonesia which has connected to the environment, for example river pollution from domestic waste was hapenned in slum area. In developing countries such as Indonesia, poverty is one of the source of environmental problem. This paper will talk about Indonesian policies and regulations in respect of poverty alleviation, as a part of human security, by protecting the environment. Indonesia did not have poverty act, but we have some act connected to poverty alleviation. This paper will also discuss about Indonesian regulations in respect of environmental protection and poverty, such as act no. 23 year 1997 on environmental management, act no 23 year 1992 on health, and act number 7 year 1999 on food. |
