Isi artikelIt is well known that the signal processing and algorithmic capabilities of distributed control systems (DCS) are limited in comparison with high performance languages on standard PC’s. The complexity and diversity of advanced control algorithms require powerful numerical program libraries, like e.g. Matlab, for the efficient implementation of specific solutions. Matlab is worldwide recognized as a powerful numeric computation, visualisation and solution development package. This paper describes the benefits of a real-time online interface from Matlab/Simulink on a WinNT-PC to a digital control system, e.g. Freelance 2000. As an application example for testing the designed architecture, identification of a non-linear process for flow control with neural networks and implementation of fuzzy controllers for flow and temperature control are presented.
