The directional interpolation with a norm constraint plays an important role in various elds of system control theory. In this paper, we consider the problem of nding real rational functions (discrete-time transfer functions) which are bounded on the unit circle and satisfy directional interpolation requirements. In this problem, the interpolating functions are allowed to have poles in the open unit disk, that is, the interpolating transfer functions are allowed to have unstable poles. We describe all the interpolating functions bounded on the unit circle with some poles in the open unit disk.
