In May, 2006, a 51-year-old woman, with a history of infiltrating ductal carcinoma of the breast, presented with atypical symptoms of acute appendicitis. She had undergone a modified radical mastectomy 4 months earlier and had received four courses of chemotherapy (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, and fluorouracil).
