In January, 2005, a 58-year-old woman presented complaining of bilateral sudden painless loss of vision, followed by perception of floaters. She had a history of colon carcinoma 2 years previously, and had been disease-free since her treatment. Her visual acuity was 20/100 in the right eye and 20/40 in the left.
