| Although current medical thought stresses prevention, India's medical institutional framework is still geared toward curative medicine and its doctors are educated in this tradition. Several objectives for medical education are proposed with a view to pr doctors who have an aptitude for work in rural areas and who will fit into the infrastructure of the health services now being planned. |
