RotaTeq is an oral live pentavalent human-bovine reassortant rotavirus vaccine. It is efficacious at preventing rotavirus gastroentritis, decreasing severe disease and reducing need for hospitalisations and emergency department visits. This an important addition to another vaccines that has an important role in the current childhood immunization program to reduce the morbidity of this global childhood diarrhoea disease.
