In an open and distance education (ODE) system, learning support plays an important role as a means to provide students with necessary assistance related to their learning process. Universitas Terbuka (UT) as a higher education institution which fully implements an ODE system aware of the importance of learning support hance provides various type of learning support. One of them is especially-designedface- to-face tutorial. The tutorial is intended for courses with complex contents or courses which need laboratory and field works. This article discusses how students perceive the quality of the tutorial. Using purposive sampling, two study groups consist of students of S-1 PGSD registered in Grobogan municipality which represents distance (near and far) between the study groups with the office of Dinas Pendidikan in charge of the program.
