Ideally school has the responsibility to provide learning environment best suited the needs and capacity of pupils who differ both in term of their academic and social capability. Government aware of the needs and in 1994 launch a regulation which permits school to provide special class, known as acceleration class, for academically-excelled students. One of many aspects controlled in the regulation is details requirements on choosing eligible students to joint the class, deciding qualified head master to lead the class, and settling on qualified teachers to deliver learning materials. This article analyzes how three elementary school in Purworejo municipality which has been appointed to provide acceleration class carry out their appointment. Results show that pupils in school which follows the regulation have higher grade than school which does not.
