Culture based teaching is different from content based teaching which is usually applied in many schools. There are four things that should be considered in culture based teaching, they are content and subject competence, meaningful and teaching process, learning assessment, and the role of culture. The four components are interelated and each has its implication towards the effectiveness of cultural based teaching. The cultural based teaching brings local culture, which is not always applied in the school curriculum, to the teaching of various materials at school. In the cultural based teaching, the learning environment will be joyfull learning to both the teacher and the students. It will make them active based on the culture they have been familiar with therefore it will get the optimal learning echievement. The students will feel happy to learn.
