This article is based on a research aim in finding out primary school pupils’ conceptions on natural sciences from the biological view points, identifying the presence of pupils’ misconceptions, and identifying factors affecting the pupils’ misconception based on their responses. Conducted in West Java, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, and East Java, sample of this research consisted of 186 pupils grade five from 12 elementary schools which were selected by purposive random sampling. Data were collected by interviews. Findings of this research revealed that misconception occured in all concepts which were investigated. Based on the results, it is suggested that elementary school science teachers should improve their teaching and learning process in order to provide pupils with right concepts of natural sciences.
