Isi artikelThis article describes CSPA (Concrete-Semi concrete-Pictorial-Abstract) Approach in promoting understanding of second grade elementary school students in SDN Sumbersari IV. The article further discusses how CSPA influences the students to associate standards models with numerals, denote tens and ones from place value mat, convert base name to addition, as well as to decide tens and ones. To gain maximum benefit from the implementation of CSPA approach, it is recommended that teachers should have trained and understood the whole process of learning, beginning with concrete, semi concrete, pictorial, and abstract models. It is advisable that every time CSPA's used, teachers take time to explain the model in words.
