This research analyzes problems related to the used of Indonesia language textbooks in Primary school. Four primary concern include (1) teachers’ perceptions on the book format, (2) teachers’ perception on the used of the books, (3) the use of the books in learning process, and (4) obstacles faced in using the books. This research applies research approach with Indonesian language teachers in Jombang subdistrict served as samples. Simple statistics were used to analyze data gathered from preprepared questionare. The results pinpoints some important conclusions which characterized Indonesian language teachers as follows: (1) have 5-25 years experience of teaching, (2) have good perceptions on the books’ format, (3) hane good perceptions on the used of the books, (4) have fair perceptions on the books in learning process, and (5) faced no physical obastacles related to the use of the books, especially for picture/drawing, (2) teachers are encouraged to apply their good perception on the book in every day learning process, (3) teachers are encouraged to increased their perception toward technical appearance in order to enhance learning process.
