Isi artikelThis classroom action research was conducted at the fifth grade of elementary school (SDN Lemah Abang 2) Tanjung. It was designed to answer the question dealing with teacher behavior in the classroom and its relationship to student learning in order to achieve learning objectives. Role playing model was chosen as an alternative model of teaching which can be used to improve pure lecture method. The main objectives of role playing are: to explore their feelings, to gain insights into their attitudes, values, and perceptions, to develop their problem-solving skill and attitudes, to explore subject matter in various ways. From this research, it was found that: 1) Role playing model can help teachers develop meaningful activities in learning process; 2) Role playing model improved teacher behavior in creating conducive learning situation; 3) Role playing model improved teacher behavior in keeping effective learning objectives.
