This article discusses student’s perceptions on academic and non-academic sevices provided by UPBJJ Medan and identifies factors that students face in obtaining the services. Results from a research conducted in 2002 at UPBJJ Medan is cerred as basic data in this article. Data were gathered by sending questionnaires to 105 students enrolling in S1 programs registered in 2000.2. The results showed that in general students tend to feel satisfied with academic services (57,89%) and non-academic services (87,30%) provided by UPBJJ Medan. However, the services must be improved because the students tend to feel dissatisfied with frequency of face-to-face tutorial, the courses provided in face-to-face tutorial, and the administration and information about faceto- face tutorial, as well as the distributions of self assignment system.
