Conventional education has limitations in Reaching pupils (in terms of financial, human resources, and sources). As a consequence of the limitations, the pupils have difficulties to access education. On the other hand, the need for training and education increases steadily. Distance education is an alternative solution. This article discusses Indonesian Distance Learning Network (IDLN), especially its essential role in building institutional capability through sharing of information, experiences, expertises, and other sources. Therefore, distance education institutions in Indonesia could develop and improve their distance learning programmes to fulfill the increasing demand of training and education in Indonesia.
