Isi artikelThis article is a report of a study that concerns Universitas Terbuka's (UT's) student services organizational structure effectiveness, particularly that in the UT's in Unit Program Belajar Jarak Jauh (UPBJJ-UT). Based on data from three UPBJJ i.e. UPBJJ-UT Bandung, Bogor (Type A) and Surakarta (Type B), the results show that the existing organizational structures of the three UPBJJ-UT, were not efficiently accommodate the complexity of the whole daily activities of the UPBJJ-UT. Accordingly, the three UPBJJ-UT then improved their structures by establishing additional units on the structure. The improvement of the organizational structure done by UPBJJ-UT Bandung, Bogor, and Surakarta, have changed the form of the structure into the 'matrix' model.
