Isi artikelIn manufacture process, failure of metal sheet forming process often happened especially in car body industry. It happened because trial-error method is a common method in design and production of metal sheet. This method is widely used because strain-stretch characteristic of varied according to shape and die-set that is used. It will be difficult to predict accurately the material strain-stretch by this method. The important point is that failure reduction is inefficient (it is costly and time consuming) in metal sheet forming process at car body industry. To overcome the failure, we use welding and lathing process, because the material is expensive and the time is restricted. Substitution or die-set repair is very expensive. It is often complained in car body industry. By virtual sampling, reduction of metal sheet process failure can be conducted quickly and inexpensive, from the component design, die set. design to application in trial process. In this article, it will explained the application of simulation process and result of avilable process (OPTRIS and PAMSTAmP) and limit of the method.
